In addition to her national and international work, Dr. Herman has had a profound effect on the way Safe Havens talks about the intersection of faith and abuse. We look forward to a robust conversation with Dr. Herman (taking place virtually) about her work. The physical distancing required to keep everyone safe during this global pandemic has increased the risk of abuse for many who are now isolated with their abuser.
Because survivors are at greater risk and have fewer opportunities to reach out for help, we need extraordinary, community-based efforts to provide access to services.
