Ayisyen nan Boston (AFAB)/Haitian Domestic Violence Roundtable
The Association of Haitian Women in Boston is a community-based

AFAB on several programs each year such as the annual Clergy Breakfast
and the Domestic Violence Forum.
Sudbury-Wayland-Lincoln
Domestic Violence Roundtable
The Sudbury-Wayland-Lincoln Domestic Violence Roundtable, Inc. is an
all-volunteer nonprofit organization of men and women incorporated in
1999. The goal of the Roundtable is to raise awareness about the issue
of domestic violence through community education and networking and to
improve the coordination between public and private services for
victims and families touched by domestic violence. Safe Havens' work
with the Sudbury-Wayland-Lincoln Domestic Violence Roundtable includes
collaboration on the Middlesex County Clergy Breakfast and the
development of a training for bystanders and friends.
GLBT Domestic
Violence Coalition
The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Domestic Violence Coalition
is an active working group that serves as a point of connection and
referral to outside organizations and community groups for professional
training and GLBT community workshops. The GLBTDVC is a coordinator of
regular forums for the greater domestic violence community. The GLBTDVC
also serves as a think tank to guide the development of services and to
avoid the duplication of services and competition for funding. Safe
Havens works with the GLBTDVC to provide resources and technical
assistance for members of the GLBT community on issues of faith and
domestic violence.
The TenPoint
Coalition
The Boston TenPoint Coalition (BTPC) is an ecumenical group of
Christian clergy and lay leaders working to mobilize the Christian
community around issues affecting Black and Latino youth. Safe Havens
participates in TenPoint meetings and programming.
The Jewish Domestic Violence Coalition
The goal of the Jewish Domestic Violence Coalition of Greater Boston is
to unite concerned organizations and individuals in an effective
response to domestic violence in the Jewish community. The Coalition is
based on the conviction that people have the right to Shalom Bayit
(Peace in the Home) and that the community has an obligation to help
protect its members. The Coalition supports the development and
coordination of services sensitive to the needs of the Jewish community
and the community at large. Safe Havens sits on the Steering Committee
of the JDVC, attends monthly meetings, and collaborates on programming
for the Jewish community. For more information, please contact Safe
Havens.
The Black
Ministerial Alliance
The BMA's mission is to provide spiritual nurture for clergy, and
advocacy and program services for the larger Black community. As part
of its mission, the BMA demonstrates its ability to create positive
change in the Boston area. Safe Havens staff participates in monthly
meetings and assists with programming.
SAGE Boston (Stop Abuse Gain
Empowerment)
In February 1999, a group of people from hospitals, domestic violence
programs, visiting nurse associations, senior programs, and others met
together to talk about the needs of older women who were abused.
SAGE-Boston is now made up of more than 23 programs who care about
older women and abuse. SAGE's mission is to improve how programs in the
Boston area respond to women over the age of 60 who are abused by
someone they love. Safe Havens currently participates in SAGE's monthly
meetings and assists with programming where possible. Call (617)
