Safe Havens' Annual Sermon Contest

Safe Havens sponsored its first-ever Sermon Contest in 2010.  Safe Havens requested sermons, khutbah, dvar torah, spiritual teachings, etc. on faith and domestic abuse written initially by seminarians.  The next year, Safe Havens opened up the contest to everyone.  The panel of judges bases their decisions on the Seminarian’s understanding of domestic abuse, the integrated use of pertinent sacred texts and traditions, and the overall theological context.
